First comes job, then comes a carriage, then comes a place to lay myself to sleep at night. You see where I was going with that. I got my first teaching job in 2012, approximately, a year later I took out my first car, and a year after that I was able to close on my very first house. I have been crossing my t's and dotting my i's since I wrapped up my time in college. Everything has slowly been falling into place ever since. The story of how I purchased my home is similar to the types of things you hear in fairytales, truly. But, that's not here nor there, it'll be a story for another day. I compiled a list of "strategies" if you will, of things that helped me get to own my first place.
My hope is these tips and tricks will help anyone who is about to embark on the same journey. If that's you, get ready for one hell of a ride. If you're fortunate enough to have a shipmate, best of luck to you both. If you're flying solo, the way I did, don't let the double signatures that appear on every single document get you down. Sign in the middle and you won't even be able to see it anymore! You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.
Without further adieu; here is my list of tips.
P.S. I will go into much more detail on each of these tips in future posts; including personal experiences and anecdotes
